Your Spirit Animal

In First Nations culture, your spirit animal shares your personality traits and also guides you through your journey of life. It may also share a physical resemblance to you in your facial features.

I believe that my spirit animal is a seagull. Not only do I look like a seagull, but I have always been strongly drawn to the seaside. Every summer as a child, I would spend hours swimming in the ocean in Tofino, Canada. Once I had the profound experience of nearly drowning, as the powerful undertow pulled me away from the shore. Luckily. My dad grabbed my arm just in time. From this, I learned to respect the ocean.

Seagulls are also restless like me. I have always been planning my next trip or move and never feel like I am permanently settled anywhere. I am well-traveled, and always love to research and explore new places. Even in my own small town, I like to find every nook and cranny of cultural or natural beauty.

Like a seagull, I am a good scavenger. I will see strange objects and find a good use for them. For example, I recently found an old glass bottle on the beach. I took it home, washed it, and made it into a flower vase for my bathroom window. I will also steal French Fries off your plate if you give me half a chance.
